Viper RTS

Think of your favorite "real-time strategy" video game. What are the aspects that make it fun? The battle for territory? Battling for objectives? Planning your strategy? Deciding what combinations of resources and tactics you will use? Matching wits with an opponent?

Now, imagine enjoying these aspects and more in a real world, real time, full-scale environment. Welcome to a Viper RTS (Real Time Strategy) Paintball game.

Two commanders match wits, and two armies struggle for conquest. The minute that the commanders are accepted the battle is in their hands. Once the story is set they are each allowed to choose the tech structures they would like placed on the field. Some are limited to one per game, such as nuclear missile silos, while two are allowed of others. Each structure has it's own characteristics, it's own bonuses that are available at timed intervals, and it's own point or resource score. All of this information is available to the commanders. Examples of structures are an airbase that supplies paratrooper drops, a field hospital that provides an on-field insertion point, or a Communications Center that allows you to hack the other teams resources. Many of the bonuses will be at a price, and will have to be paid for every time it is used. Each structure can be taken by general infantry, but there will be special characters that will allow you to take control of them faster. For example, whereas it will take fifteen minutes of control to convert the Communications Center to your color, it will only take ten if you have an engineer or a hacker with you. Bring them both and it will only take five. Additionally, some will provide points, while others provide resources. The minute the structure is converted to your color you will start accruing points or resources. The commanders must decide which structures will best compliment their strategy, as they will have a limited number of flags. These must be placed on a structure in order to capture it. Both bases will be equipped with a constantly updated system by which they can visually assess who is in control, if anyone, of all structures on the field, and any bonuses that are currently available as a result of control of these structures. However, communication will be the key. There is little doubt that the side with the best communication will win.

The exciting thing about this is that the players are in complete control of the game, and the action. The commanders are in command in the truest sense. They plan their strategy, they adjust and adapt as the battle progresses, and they decide the missions that will go out. Not only that, but the people running those missions will understand why they are on a patrol, or a take-and-hold, or a recon. They will understand exactly what part they are playing in winning the game.
