Dr. Rake taught
numerous courses at the School of Dentistry for the next 25 years as a
faculty member and served as Acting Chairman of the Restorative
Dentistry Department for two years. Dr. Rake was voted "Best

time, he also maintained a private practice one day each week.
Eventually, he decided to retire from teaching to practice dentistry for
adults, emphasizing the specialty of prosthodontics. Dr. Rake is

Our Practice
Philosophy
Dr. Rake's core philosophy is patient education and self discovery.
This means that Dr. Rake wants you to learn about your mouth, how
certain problems develop and how to avoid these problems. He wants
to include you in the "co-diagnosis" of your particular situation and
help you select treatment options based on your goals and values.
When fully informed, you'll make better dental decisions for yourself
and avoid the repeated repairs so common in dentistry. Since Dr.
Rake believes that preventation of disease is not only more healthy but
also more cost effective than repair of damage, he will encourage you to
learn this strategy for health. We strive to establish a
relationship of mutual trust and respect so that you will ask us to help
"coach" or "counsel" you to set healthy goals for yourself.
